VERO BEACH,
FL – Sculptor Catherine Ferrell of Vero Beach, Florida once
again has been selected to participate in three important national
exhibitions. Flying Doves was exhibited in “The Art of the
Animal Kingdom XII,” one of this country’s most prestigious
wildlife exhibitions, held at the Bennington
Center for the Arts in Bennington, Vermont from July
16 to September 9, 2007. Three of her sculptures – Harvest
Basket, Noah’s Messengers, and Otter Delight – were
included in “Visions of America,” the annual exhibition
of the American
Academy of Women Artists, also at Bennington, from July
28 to September 9, 2007. Works from this show were featured in
the August issue of American Art Review. Freedom’s Guardian,
an award-winning bust of a bald eagle, was exhibited in the Catharine
Lorillard Wolfe Art Club’s 111th Annual Open Exhibition
held at the National
Arts Club in New York City from October 2 through October
28, 007. Catherine Ferrell is a signature member of the American
Academy of Women Artists, a Fellow of
the American Artists Professional League, and is active
in The Salmagundi Club,
The Pen & Brush, the Society of Animal Artists, and the
National Sculpture Society. Her public sculpture can
be found at Armand Hammer’s United World College in Montezuma,
New Mexico and Brookgreen
Gardens, Pawleys Island, SC, where she is a former sculptor
in residence. She is represented by the Cheryl Newby Gallery in
Pawleys Island, SC.
