Beach Bunny is a portrait of Cathy Ferrell's pet house rabbit. She wrote: “Our small, silver-blue bunny became my favorite reading companion. His quiet presence always drew a smile. As a student of Asian design and its subtleties, I much appreciated the lessons in silence and repose learned from him.”

The ungainly kid goat, stretching its hind leg to scratch its head, earned the Bedi-Makky Foundry Prize for Sculpture at the National Sculpture Society Annual Awards Exhibition in 2002 and the Silver Medal of Honor from Audubon Artists in 1999.

Siamese Cat was exhibited in Figurative Felines: The Sculptured Cat at Brookgreen Gardens in early 2008. The artist explained its origin: “A dear friend’s elegant Siamese cat inspired this sculpture. Penelope was all triangles and graceful lines, reminiscent of early Egyptian sculpture. She was a perfect model, and each movement created more intriguing compositions. Her owner is a wonderful friend who loves art, books, and music, and is always ready for an impromptu visit to a good museum or exhibit.”
